Daryll McGuire grew up in the Birmingham, AL area. He attended Jefferson County public schools and was active in a variety of sports. At the age of 15, Daryll took his first job with K-Mart department store, where he worked until he completed high school.
Daryll attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham while working at US Pipe and Foundry as their Senior Estimator. He had the opportunity to play for UAB’s first football team as wide receiver.
After beginning with Watkins Motor Lines in 1996, Daryll was promoted to Terminal Manager and transferred to open their first terminal in Jackson, TN in 1999. Shortly after moving to Jackson, he met his future wife, Jenny, whom he married two years later.
In 2004, he began working for The STAR Center, a non-profit agency that helps people with disabilities, where he now is Vice President of Home Care Services. As an alumnus of Leadership Jackson in 2008, Daryll has a greater appreciation for his community. With that perspective, he has held a number of roles: member and former President of the Lion’s Club; Family Support Council-District 8 and State Level; Committee Chair for Higher Education at First United Methodist Church; and PTO Board Member for Montessori School at Bemis. All of these have provided him opportunities to give back to his community.
Daryll and Jenny have been married for 12 years and have two daughters. The McGuire family lives in Jackson, TN.
