Mrs. Ludell Coffey was employed for thirty-one (31) years with Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service as the CEO. During that time the program grew from one program in one county serving approximately one hundred thirty-five (135) people a year, to five (5) programs in fifteen (15) counties serving thousands each year. She worked diligently to increase private and public funding to provide more services to seniors. She also trained and employed many seniors. It was through her commitment and dedication that she was able to obtain funding to build Renaissance Terrace, an affordable assisted living residence.
Mrs. Coffey also worked as a Dental Hygienist for twenty-two (22) years. She has also volunteered her time as Treasurer and Secretary and Deacon of her church; assists in cooking for Wednesday night supper before Bible Study.
Her qualifications include experience in helping form the Tennessee Association of Homemaker Service Providers and has served as their President for the past five (5) years; co-chaired the first statewide Senior Summit in Nashville, TN; active in Second District, State of Tennessee and National levels of Dental Hygienists Associations and served as the local President and state President and served on the national Membership Committee.
Mrs. Coffey attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administration of Health Care Delivery, and also attended the University of Tennessee, Memphis, TN and has a Certificate of Dental Hygiene.
Mrs. Coffey resides in Knoxville, TN with her husband. They have adult children and grandchildren.
