Bledsoe County Correctional Complex (BCCX) is the intake diagnostic center for the Tennessee Department of Correction. New offenders receive a diagnostic assessment which will determine which location meets their needs.
BCCX is located on approximately 2,500 acres approximately 15 miles from Pikeville. It is a level 3 facility with minimum to maximum custody levels. BCCX includes one maximum security unit, several medium units, a young adult component, a co-occurring component, an annex and a 300-bed women's unit.
BCCX offers academic programs which include GED and Adult Basic Education. Vocational programs are offered which include culinary arts, heating and air conditioning, carpentry, electronics, barbering, career development, woodworking, auto cad, auto body repair, small engine repair and cosmetology. Other programs offered include anger management, drug awareness, self awareness, family living, family life education, assertiveness, stress management and programs designed for self-improvement and re-entry into the community.
BCCX, in accordance with TRICOR (Tennessee Rehabilitative Initiative In Corrections) currently operates a 2,500 acre farm which produces milk, field crops for cattle and a tea operation. TRICOR entered into a new partnership in July 2008 with Shaw Flooring to employee offenders to perform distressing flooring.
Take I-40 East to Exit 317 (Crossville Hwy. 127). Turn right onto Highway 127 and proceed through Crossville (past courthouse and the hospital) and turn right onto Highway 392 (Miller Bypass.) Continue to the first traffic light and turn left onto Highway 101 (Lantana Road.) Proceed down Highway 101 until you reach a stop sign (approximately 25 miles from Crossville). Turn right onto Highway 285 and follow the signs to the facility.
Take I-40 West to Exit 322 (Peavine Road). Turn left and go to 4 way stop. Continue straight on Hwy. 392 (Miller ByPass) for approximately 4 miles. At the 2nd traffic light (junction Hwy. 101), turn left onto Hwy. 101 (Lantana Road) and proceed for approximately 25 miles until you reach a stop sign. Turn right onto Highway 285 and follow the signs to the facility.
Take Highway 27 North until you reach the junction of Highway 111. Veer left onto Highway 111 and travel approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction of Highway 127. Turn right onto Highway 127 and proceed North until you reach the junction of Highway 30 (you will go through the town of Pikeville.) Turn left onto Highway 30. Once you reached the top of the mountain, you will proceed for approximately 7 miles until you reach the junction of Highway 101. Turn right onto Highway 101 and follow this road (do not turn) until you reach the signs for the facility.
