The Charles Bass Correctional Complex (CBCX) was a multi-missioned, time-building facility for male offenders committed to the Department of Correction.

CBCX housed approximately 750 offenders in 16 housing units. The prison housed the department's sex offender program, a therapeutic community program and various community service work crews.

The offenders at the prison provide more than 160,000 hours of community service work each year to state and local government and non-profit agencies in the Nashville area.

Offenders nearing release dates were provided intense pre-release education classes (Release for Success) and offenders without diplomas were enrolled in GED preparation classes. Offenders were also enrolled in college classes in conjunction with Nashville State Community College.
