Below, are various items I would like to share:
- Community Visit: Last week, I visited Douglas Cooperative, Inc. (DCI) in Sevierville with Representative Richard Montgomery and Senator Doug Overbey, to honor board president Curtis Nicholson for his 18 years of service. We toured DCIs facilities, their workshop, and had the opportunity to visit several job sites in Dollywood where DCI persons are employed. It was a tremendous visit and would not have been possible without the coordination and efforts of DCI Executive Director Paula York and her staff. We appreciate you sharing your time and for giving an overview of DCIs day-to-day operations. - 2012 Consumer Satisfaction Survey: In line with DIDD’s vision to support all Tennesseans with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live a fulfilling and rewarding life, a satisfaction survey was mailed to all class members and their representatives this week. We are hoping to receive a great number of surveys back to let us know how we are doing and what we can do to improve services for class members.
- College of Direct Support: DIDD and Elsevier continue to work together to improve the web based training offered through College of Direct Support. Elsevier has been conducting webinar sessions to present upcoming changes to the features and functions of Elsevier’s College of Direct Support training platform. There will be a new version of the Elsevier Performance Manager (EPM) released in August which will simplify CDS in the assignment of courses, improve the user interface and simplify administrative workflows.
Training administrators have already received notice of the four sessions on the EPM enhancements now available for review on the CDS website and some updated information for IT so as to ensure firewall acceptance of the changes. Please be advised that there will be one day during the week of August 13 when the entire CDS system will be down so the upgrades can be implemented. - Title VI Survey: DIDD 2012 Title VI Self Survey is available on DIDD’s website. All DIDD funded agencies are required to complete the form. The surveys are due to be returned via email to Annie Bernard at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions, please call 615-231-5500. The deadline for submission is August 1, 2012. - Legislative Proposals: Although the 2012 legislative session has ended, it is time once again to begin thinking about potential legislation for 2013. I am asking everyone to carefully consider issues currently facing persons served and how proposed legislation can affect changes in our system and improve processes. To recap, DIDD had three administration bills passed during the 2012 session: Admissions Review Committee, Universal Do Not Resuscitate Orders (UDNRs) as it pertains to Direct Support Professionals, and Licensure (Department of Mental Health to DIDD). - Focus Groups: Both meetings will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Lunch will be served and all are welcome to attend.
Nashville: July 10, 2012 in the basement of One Cannon Way located on the Clover Bottom Developmental Campus. Participants will be setting up a committee to finalize plans for some upcoming social events including a dance.
Memphis: July 17, 2012 at SRVS Main Office.
- Network Accreditation Person-Centered Excellence: Plans are underway to host regional kick-off events to celebrate the department’s accreditation initiative. Dates, times, and venues will be announced in the coming weeks. - Changes to Billing Process and Increased Billing Frequency: Earlier this week DIDD submitted its second detailed billing file to TennCare. This file represents the first opportunity for Providers to take advantage of the bi-weekly billing process. 118 Providers submitted billing for this bi-weekly cycle, which represents approximately 35% of the Provider community. We hope that this will prove beneficial to those providers, and we hope that more providers will choose to take advantage of the opportunity to bill more frequently as they adjust to the new billing processes.
DIDD Special Services has received several questions from Providers regarding the electronic Adjudicated Claims Report. This report was expected to be sent last Thursday, but was delayed due to a technical issue. This issue has now been resolved, and DIDD expects to send the burst reports out early next week. In the future these reports should be received closer to receipt of the paper remittance from TennCare. Please remember that the paper remittance from TennCare is the official remittance and the electronic report is for your convenience. As always, if a discrepancy is found providers should rely on the paper remittance as the official document record.
DIDD Information Systems is also working to address an issue with its Void Reports, and will begin sending these reports in both PDF and Excel format. We will include some additional information about these reports in next week’s Open Line Update.
We continue to receive reports of intermittent performance issues within the PCP application, and will continue to address these issues as they are reported.
