Assessment, Evaluation and Research Division
The function of the Assessment, Evaluation and Research Division is to implement the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) which includes state-mandated, student assessment programs. This office provides assistance to schools and systems concerning state tests, testing schedules and procedures, and the appropriate use of state assessment results for the improvement of classroom instruction and student achievement in grades K-12.
The TCAP currently includes the Achievement Test/ELSA (grades 3-8), the ELDA Test, the Writing Test, the Constructive Response Tests, the Gateway Tests and the End of Course Tests.
The State is an English only State; all assessments are provided in English only. We do not offer any of our assessments in a Native Language format.
