| Description |
This course is designed to prepare fire service, law enforcement and emergency medical service (EMS)
personnel to utilize Incident Command and Unified Command in their communities during catastrophic
incidents. The course assists emergency response personnel in the understanding of, and the ability to
apply the Incident Command System (ICS) when multiple agencies are involved at major and catastrophic
incidents, and to provide a better understanding of operations under a Unified Command (UC). This
course is intended for agency officers and supervisors who have considerable ICS responsibilities at major
and catastrophic incidents. The students attending this course should have a basic familiarity with the
National Fire Academy (NFA) Incident Command System (ICS).
