Tennesseans have been eager to provide support to those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria in late summer 2017. Financial donations to vetted organizations are among the most effective ways to contribute in the response to a natural disaster. The following resources are available to help determine how best to assist those recovering from disaster and where to donate funds.

The National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster has a network of organizations that are either prepared to respond or are actively responding to hurricane disaster relief in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.

Information for Those Evacuating to Tennessee

Find a shelter by visiting redcross.org or by downloading the free Red Cross Emergency App. The Emergency App also puts real time information about the storm and hurricane safety tips at your fingertips.

The Tennessee Department of Tourism asks hurricane evacuees check at Tennessee Welcome Centers for a list of available hotel and motel accommodations as lodging availability is constantly being updated.
