AUTHORIZATION OF RETROACTIVE ASSISTANCE AND AUXILIARY PAYMENTS

Table of Contents

When it is determined that the applicant is eligible for the current month and subsequent months prior to approval, a single payment is made to the AU beginning with the date of application.  The eligibility and case management system will compute current month and retroactive payments when the case is authorized.

When an applicant is currently eligible, but would have been ineligible during the application month, deny the application for the application month.  Enter a new application date for the month the AU is eligible.  Payment will be made for the current month and any eligible future months.

Deny an applicant who has had a change in circumstances during the application processing period that causes the AU to be ineligible for the current and future months. Issue an auxiliary payment for the month(s) of eligibility.  Authorize the auxiliary payments.

Auxiliary payments are made to correct an underpayment of at least $1.00 per month.
