COUNTY UNEMPLOYMENT RATES NASHVILLE Tennessees November unemployment rate at 5.7 percent, up slightly from the October adjusted rate, was released on December 18, 2003. County unemployment rates released today showed that 84 county rates increased, nine counties decreased, and two county rates remained the same. The Williamson County rate of 2.9 percent, up from 2.7 over the month, registered the states lowest county unemployment rate. The Clay County rate of 15.5 percent, up from 13.0, reported the states highest jobless rate. Knox County
registered the states second lowest metropolitan county unemployment
rate of 3.1 percent, up from 2.9, while Hamilton County was 4.0 percent,
up from 3.7. Davidson County was 4.6 percent, up from 4.2, and Shelby
County was 6.7 percent, up from 6.3 over the month.
