County Unemployment Rates
Rates
show decreases in 49 counties
NASHVILLE
- Tennessee's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2004 of 4.5
percent, the same as the June revised rate of 4.5 percent, was released
on August 19, 2004. County non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates
for July 2004, released today, show that 49 counties decreased, 40 counties
increased, and six remained the same.
Williamson County registered the state's lowest county unemployment rate
at 2.4 percent, down from 2.5 in June. Lauderdale County's rate of 14.2
percent, up from 11.1 in June, was the state's highest.
Knox County had the state's lowest major metropolitan rate at 2.7, down
from 2.8 in June. Hamilton County was 3.2, down from 3.5 in June. Davidson
was at 3.5 percent, down from 4.0 in June, and Shelby County was 5.5 percent,
down from 5.9.
