County Unemployment Rates
Rates show increases in 79 counties
NASHVILLE
- Tennessee's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June 2004 of 4.5
percent, down from the May revised rate of 4.8 percent, was released on
July 15, 2004. County non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for June
2004, released today, show that 79 counties increased, eight counties
decreased, and eight remained the same.
Williamson County registered the state's lowest county unemployment rate
at 2.5 percent, up from 2.3 in May. Clay County's rate of 12.3 percent,
up from 10.6 in May, was the state's highest.
Knox
County had the state's lowest major metropolitan rate at 2.8, up from
2.5 in May. Hamilton County was 3.5, up from 3.3 in May. Davidson was
at 4.0 percent, up from 3.6 in May, and Shelby County was 5.9 percent,
up from 5.2.
