October County Unemployment Rates NASHVILLE - Tennessee 's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October 2004 of 5.1 percent, the same as the September revised rate of 5.1 percent, was released on November 18, 2004. County non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for October 2004, released today, show that 51 counties increased, 32 counties decreased, and 12 remained the same. Moore County registered the state’s lowest county unemployment rate at 2.2 percent, down from 2.5 in September. Lawrence County was the state’s highest at 13.1 percent, up from 8.4 percent in September. Knox County had the state’s lowest major metropolitan rate at 2.8 percent, the same as the September rate. Hamilton County was 3.5 percent and Davidson County was 4.0 percent, both unchanged from the September rates. Shelby County was 6.4 percent, up from 6.2 in September.
