The focus of the Elevator & Amusement Device Safety Board is licensing elevator inspectors; consulting with engineering authorities and organizations studying and developing safety codes; and determining what rules and regulations governing elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, aerial passenger tramways, moving walks and amusement devices are adequate, reasonable, and necessary to provide for the safety of life, limb, and property and to protect the public welfare.
The Elevator Board meets four times a year. Minutes of past meetings are available here.
