Notice of November 2013 Tennessee Real Estate Commission Rulemaking Hearing
Pursuant to Tenn. Code. Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession. The Tennessee Real Estate Commission is convening a rulemaking hearing at its regularly scheduled meeting on November 6, 2013 in Conference Room 1-A of the Davy Crockett Tower, 500 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville, Tennessee 37243, at 9:30 AM, CST. A copy of the proposed new rules is available for review on the website of the Secretary of State at http://state.tn.us/sos/rules_filings/08-10-13.pdf. The proposed new rules to be considered at the rulemaking hearing include a rule relating to the ramifications for failure to maintain errors and omissions insurance as required by Tenn. Code Ann. § 62-13-112 (as amended by Public Chapter No. 84), as well as a rule relative to the new requirement of Tenn. Code Ann. § 62-13-303 (as amended by Public Chapter No. 420) that all applicants for initial licensure on or after January 1, 2014 must submit a set of fingerprints for obtaining a criminal background check.
In compliance with the Tennessee Open Meetings Act, compiled at Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-44-101 et seq., the above-referenced rulemaking hearing is open to the public, and you may either attend the rulemaking hearing in person to offer comments or you may submit written comments which will be considered by the Commission at the time of the rulemaking hearing.
