1. Select a Software Vendor

To begin, you must first select the Electronic Data Interface (EDI) software vendor from whom you will obtain the software that will be used to file the electronic return.

2. Contact the Vendor

Once a vendor has been selected, you will need to contact the vendor and arrange to use the vendor's software.

3. File Your Return

You are now ready to file your returns through your selected vendor.


Modernized e-File Program:

The Tennessee Department of Revenue is now accepting Hall Income Tax returns for tax year 2012 through the IRS Modernized E-File program (MEF). This partnership between states and the Internal Revenue Service allows tax preparers to include the state tax return and any associated payment with its electronically filed federal return.
