Compiler's Notes. Former part 27, § 36-5-2701 (Acts 1997, ch. 551, § 2), concerning determination of parentage, is repealed and reenacted by Acts 2010, ch. 901, § 1, upon completion of the provisions in § 2 of the act. Acts 2010, ch. 901, § 2 provides that the act take effect as soon as possible after the United States deposits the instrument of ratification for The Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance, the department of human services shall file a notice with the secretary of state, who shall publish the notice in the Tennessee Administrative Register on the secretary of state's web site, stating the date on which the instrument of ratification was deposited and the date designated by the department in the notice that this act takes effect; provided the effective date shall not exceed six (6) months from the date of such notice, the public welfare requiring it. For provisions in effect prior to the date designated by the department of human services, see the preceding version of this part.
