Tennessee Regulatory Authority at a Glance
Established in 1996, the Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) was created to meet the challenge of the changing telecommunications and utility environment. The TRA is charged with the responsibility of setting the rates and service standards of privately owned telephone, natural gas, electric, and water utilities.
Organizationally, the TRA consists of six divisions. The six divisions include Consumer Services, managed by Lisa Cooper; Economic Analysis and Policy, managed by Jerry Kettles; Gas Pipeline Safety managed by interim chief Annette Ponds; Information Technology, managed by Tracy Stinson; Legal, managed by Jean Stone; and Utilities, managed by David Foster.
The staff of the TRA is made up of various professional disciplines, including accountants, administrators, attorneys, consumer specialists, economists, engineers, information technology and computer specialists, policy advisors, and office support personnel.
Location Of The Tennessee Regulatory Authority
The Tennessee Regulatory Authority is located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee at 460 James Robertson Parkway, one half mile from the three major interstate systems: I-24, I-40, and I-65. The building's facade is green marble, and it is situated next door to the studios of News Channel 5 and across from the Municipal Auditorium. The building number is 460. Map
The main entrance to the building is from James Robertson Parkway. Please see the receptionist or guard to sign in and obtain a visitor's pass. The hearing room is on the ground floor and to the left as you exit the elevator.
The TRA meets ADA specifications. Special needs parking is available in the front and rear of the building.
