Southern Festival of Books

TSLA booth at the Southern Festival of BooksThe Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word is a three-day literary festival celebrated each year during the second full weekend of October. The festival is free and open to the public; no advance registration or tickets are required. With the location of the festival at nearby Legislative Plaza in Downtown Nashville, the Tennessee State Library and Archives takes the opportunity each year to advertise the wonderful collections and services that we offer. TSLA’s booths have featured themes focusing on Tennessee foodways, antebellum life in the state, and the Civil War Sesquicentennial. Booth staffers also disseminate information about the Tennessee Electronic Library, Education Outreach, and the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

TSLA will once again be participating at the Southern Festival of Books on October 11, 12, and 13, 2013. Plan to join us in attending and supporting this unique Tennessee festival as it celebrates its 25th year. You can find more information on the Southern Festival of Books on the website of its sponsor agency, Humanities Tennessee, at http://humanitiestennessee.org/programs/southern-festival-books-celebration-written-word.
