Macon County

Macon County was formed in 1824 from
Smith and Sumner counties
(Acts of Tennessee 1841-42, Chapter 45).

The county seat is Lafayette.

There were fires at the Macon County
courthouse in 1860, 1901 and 1932.

NEWSPAPERS ON MICROFILM 

Newspapers were published in Red Boiling Springs and Lafayette.
