A computerized drawing takes place during the application period for duck blind sites for four Chickamauga WMA units (Candies Creek, Johnson Bottoms, Rogers Creek, & Yellow Creek).

Hand drawings for vacant sites for the Chickamauga WMA will be held every Monday at 6:00 PM local time, if there are vacancies for the indicated weekend during waterfowl season.

Special Rules & Regulations

  • The successful applicant can bring three (3) additional hunters (guest) of his choice, each day of the hunt. The number of hunters in a pool or blind may not exceed four (4), one of which must be the successful applicant.
  • All hunters must possess a picture identification and all appropriate licenses and permits. Additionally, the successful applicant must also posses the TWRA blind confirmation number as issued by TWRA.
  • All decoys must be removed from TWRA property upon completion of the hunt on the last hunt day.
  • Possession of alcohol is prohibited.

Any violation of rules and regulations will result in prosecution and cancellation of the hunt.

Yellow Creek Waterfowl Unit

Located in Rhea County. 2.5 miles south of Hwy. 68 on Old Stage Road.

Description

90 acres total, 40 acres native vegetation, 25 acres corn and late wheat. Four blind sites available.

Candies Creek Unit

Located in Bradley County. From I-75 & Hwy. 60 in Cleveland, TN, turn right (North) on Hwy. 308, go 5.8 miles; turn right, before Candies Creek Bridge then take left fork. From I-75 & Hwy. 308 (exit 33) near Charleston, TN, take Hwy 308 (West), go 3.8 miles; cross Candies Creek Bridge, take first left, then take left fork.

Description

33 acres of moist soil native vegetation, 7 acres of Japanese millet, 10 acres of corn and milo. Crops are fair to poor quality. Eight blind sites available.

Johnson Bottoms Unit

Located in Bradley County. Hwy. 306 (Lower River Road) West of Bradley County. Turn right at Meigs/Bradley Co. lines, then take first left.

Description

27 acres of moist soil managed native vegetation, 5 acres of Japanese millet, 15 acres of corn and milo. Crop conditions are fair to poor. Five blind sites available.

Rogers Creek Unit

Located in McMinn County. From I-75 and McMinn County road 20 (exit 36) near Calhoun, TN, take McMinn County Road 20 (West), go 3.4 miles; turn right at store onto McMinn County Road 4; go 0.5 miles and turn left to lower parking area. From store, go 0.9 miles and turn left into upper parking area.

Other directions: From Hwy. 58 and Hwy 60 near Georgetown, TN, take Hwy. 58 (North); go 7.3 miles, turn right (East) on North River Road (Lamontville Road). Go 7.9 miles; turn left at store onto McMinn County Road 4; go 0.5 miles and turn left to lower parking area. From store, continue 0.9 miles; turn left to upper parking area.

Description

Rogers Creek Upper Pond Crops – 26 acres of moist soil managed native vegetation, 4 acres of Japanese millet, 10 acres of corn and milo. Crop conditions are fair to poor quality.

Rogers Creek Lower Pond Crops – 18 acres of moist soil managed native vegetation, 6 acres of Japanese millet, 8 acres of corn and milo.

Eight blind sites available for both ponds.
