Region II is one of four regions within TWRA’s statewide organization. Wildlife officers reside in the 25 counties that comprise Region II, but the regional headquarters is located in the Ellington Agricultural Center in south Davidson County. Wildlife managers, biologists, dispatchers, and secretaries work in the office and routinely coordinate with Middle Tennessee wildlife officers and field staff of wildlife management areas, fish crews, TWRA lakes, hatcheries, and shooting ranges.

In addition, the Region II headquarters also includes TWRA’s sales office where hunters, anglers, and boaters can stop by during weekday business hours and purchase hunting/fishing licenses, permits, or boat registrations. Our office is open 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Maury County Youth Small Game and Predator Hunt
           
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency,Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation, Columbia Noon Rotary, Sundrop and several local area businesses are sponsoring the 3rd annual youth small game hunt.

The free event will begin Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 6 a.m., at the National Guard Armory (Industrial Park Road, Columbia, TN.), with breakfast provided. Young hunters will then be teamed up with guides and dog handlers to either hunt rabbits, squirrels or predators. Both public and private lands will be utilized for the hunt. Lunch, a clay target range and prize drawings will follow the hunt.

Hunters must fall in the age range of 9-15 years old, be hunter education certified by the hunt date, have all appropriate licenses and provide their own firearm and ammunition. Parents and/or guardians are welcome to accompany the youngsters. There will be safety officers assigned to all hunt parties if going rabbit or squirrel hunting.

To register, send e-mail here. Specify if the youngster would like to hunt rabbits, squirrels or predators and include their name, age and provide a contact number. The hunt will be first come, first serve and limited to 50-75 hunters.
