About Our Speaker
Jane Bibring studied cell biology at Edinburgh University (Scotland, undergraduate) and Stockholm University (Sweden, graduate) and then carried out research in the Department
of Molecular Biology at Vanderbilt for about 20 years. After becoming interested in education, she taught 11th and 12th grade sciences at University School of Nashville
for about 15 years. This included being responsible for a newly mitigated wetland
area at USN's River Campus.
Jane has lived in West Meade for 40 years. Although not an ecologist, she became very
involved in the West Meade Conservancy shortly after it was founded in 2006.
Hosted by the TWRA I&E Department and held on the first Thursday of each month, except July, Nature @ Noontime presentations are about natural resource related topics and last about 30-45, minutes, allowing time for discussion during the allotted lunch hour.
