The Employee Tuition Assistance Programs of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) intends to:
The Title IV-E BSW/BSSW Tuition Assistance Program provides financial support to selected undergraduate-level social work majors who are committed to working with the children and families served by DCS upon completion of their Bachelor of Social Work/Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW/BSSW) degree at a participating university.
The Title IV-E MSW/MSSW Tuition Assistance Program provides financial support to DCS employees who desire to enrich the knowledge, skills, and abilities they bring to the Department by obtaining a Master of Social Work / Master of Science in Social Work (MSW/MSSW) degree from a participating university.
The Employee Graduate Tuition Reimbursement Program provides financial support to DCS staff willing to make a commitment to complete a master's-level graduate program in a human service major. The objective of this program is to strengthen the Department with public child welfare employees who are committed to gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Master’s level professional.
The Certification Program is to recruit and develop social work students who are committed to working in child welfare for the DCS workforce. This program offers students the Child Welfare Case Management Certification and the benefits therein without providing financial assistance while the student is in school. Students do not go into a contractual agreement to work for the department once they graduate in the Certification Program.
