FO199 - Fire Officer 1-2 Combined Week 4

Overview

This is the last course in a four-part series designed to instruct the student in the area of Fire Officer 1 and 2. This part of the course is designed to teach student advanced strategy and tactics used in the fire service emergency operations. This week includes a 4 hour presentation on Modern Residential Firefighting Tactics. At the end of the four weeks, eligible students may take the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting Personnel and Standard Education certification exam for Fire Officer 1&2.

Pre-Requisites

Firefighter I and II, Fire Instructor I, ICS 100, 200, and 700 must be obtained before Commission testing. Fire Officer 1&2 Combined Weeks 1,2 and 3.

Restrictions

Must be 18 years of age.

Certification

Fire Officer 1 & 2 ((Please note: To test for this certification, you must meet all prerequisites established by the Tennessee Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education Commission.)

Course Objectives

  • Students will be able to develop an Incident Action Plan.
  • Students will participate in a practical exercise using area buildings and scenarios to evaluate them on command presence, fire ground benchmarks, safety and proper strategies and tactics.
