Captain Doug Taylor
Doug Taylor is a 20-year veteran with the state of Tennessee. Prior to being promoted, Taylor has been the Lieutenant of the Research, Planning, and Development Division since 2010. He was promoted to Sergeant of the Research, Planning, and Development Division in 2006. In 2004, he returned to the Research, Planning, and Development Division after serving for one year in the Colonel’s Office. Taylor joined the Staff Inspection Unit within the Research, Planning, and Development Division in 2000.
Commissioned as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer in 1996, Taylor first worked at the Interstate Inspection Station in Robertson County. Taylor also worked on the road in Robertson and Davidson County.
He received his bachelor degree in Speech Communication from the University of Tennessee, he is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, and he is currently enrolled in the Masters of Professional Studies in Public Safety Program with the Tennessee Technological University.
