The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and TennCare have released a concept paper about the future of the state's Home and Community Based Waivers for people with intellectual disabilities. In June 2014, DIDD and TennCare held community forums about the Concept Paper in all three regions. The presentations are below, as well as questions and answers that came up at the meetings.
Employment and Community First CHOICES
In June 2015, the state submitted Amendment 27 to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. It requests federal authority to implement the new Employment and Community First CHOICES Program. This program will support persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving employment and independent community living to the maximum extent possible.
