    Nashville, TN — Today, the Tennessee Department of Education invites all Tennesseans to a public rulemaking hearing to respond to the proposed rules for the Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement (TISA) Act. The hearing will take place on Thursday, July 28th from 9 a.m. CT - 12 noon CT in Nashville, TN, and a livestream option will be available for attendees statewide to participate virtually.

  • TDOE Awards $27M TN ALL Corps Grants to Five Community Partners Expanding High-Dosage, Low-Ratio Statewide Tutoring Program

  • Tennessee Releases 2021-22 TCAP State-Level Results Highlighting Significant Learning Acceleration

    Nashville, TN— Today, the Tennessee Department of Education and the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network (TSIN) announced 27 schools have received the Tennessee STEM/STEAM School Designation for 2022. Starting this school year, schools could either apply for a STEM or STEAM Designation through the designation rubric. Schools that sought to apply for the STEAM Designation emphasized the integration of the arts in their STEM application.

  • Two Middle Tennessee Teachers Receive National Recognition as Milken Educators

    Nashville, TN— Today, the Tennessee Department of Education announced two Tennessee teachers—Raeven Brooks, 2nd grade teacher at Black Fox Elementary School in Murfreesboro City Schools and Tyler Hallstedt, 8th grade social studies teacher at Mt. Juliet Middle School in Wilson County Schools— have been named recipients of the prestigious Milken Educator Award, one of the highest honors in education that has been dubbed the “Oscars of Teaching” by Teacher Magazine. In addition to the honor of being a Milken Educator Award winner, these teachers have also received $25,000 from the Milken Family Foundation.
