Governor's Academy for School Leadership Selection Process

The selection process begins with a school district’s director of schools nominating both a fellow and mentor into the initial nomination pool. The initial pool will be reviewed by the selection committee and a limited number of candidates will be invited to apply. The nominees who are invited to apply will reflect qualified nominees representing the three geographic grand divisions in Tennessee. Applicants will be selected as fellows and mentors based on a thorough review by the selection committee which may include interviews, written exercises, reference checks, and identified need within the school district.
