Melanie Hill is the Executive Director of the Health Services and Development Agency, a position she has held since the Agency was first created in 2002 as the successor to the Health Facilities Commission. She has worked with the Tennessee certificate of need program since 1998 when she became the assistant executive director of the Health Facilities Commission and then later served as its director.
Melanie started her career in public service in 1983 with the Tennessee Department of Health as a registered dietitian working in rural health departments in Northwest Tennessee. She later served as the dietetic consultant on the department's health facility survey teams in both West and Middle Tennessee. Melanie held supervisory and managerial positions as the Assistant Director and Regional Director of the Middle Tennessee Health Care Facilities Office and later became director of the Board for Licensing Health Care Facilities.
Melanie earned both a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
