  • Tennessee Looking for Partners in Food Program Families Depend On

    The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is working to find more partners next year to serve as sponsors of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The CACFP is a federally funded program that provides meals to children and adults who meet age and income requirements. TDHS administers the program in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to reimburse sponsoring organizations for meals that meet or exceed federal nutrition standards.

  • More Vulnerable Adults Becoming Victims of Financial Crimes

    The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is issuing a warning about the growing problem of financial exploitation of vulnerable adults. The department’s Adult Protective Services (APS) division received more than 4,000 complaints of financial exploitation in fiscal year 2017-2018. That’s more than the year prior and an increase of 33% from state fiscal year 2015-2016.

  • State Employees Stepping Out To Support Hunger Awareness

    Employees with the Tennessee Department of Human Services and other state agencies are helping raise awareness of the problem of hunger in Tennessee with a hunger and wellness walk through downtown Nashville. Participants will be easy to spot wearing the color orange to recognize Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month, which runs through the end of September.
