  • Tennessee Seeking Non-Profits to Serve the State's Pandemic Needs

The state is making $150 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds available in this grant cycle through the Tennessee Community CARES Program.

  • Tennessee Making it More Convenient to Apply for Services

  • Tennesseans Are Now Able to Use SNAP Benefits to Buy Food Online

    Tennesseans who utilize the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to feed their families now have a new resource to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved Tennessee for a pilot program that allows SNAP benefits to be used to buy food online with Amazon and Walmart.

  • Program to Provide Free Child Care for Essential Workers Expanded

    The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is expanding support for essential workers who are serving their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. All categories of essential workers identified in Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order 22 are now eligible for the COVID-19 Essential Employee Child Care Payment Assistance Program. Additionally, the program has been expanded to provide payment assistance until mid-August 2020 to help essential employees stay on the job through the summer.

  • New Assistance Available for Victims of the April 12 Tornado

    The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is making new resources available to those with a financial need who were impacted by the April 12 tornado disaster. Beginning Wednesday, May 6, 2020, individuals can apply for both Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) benefits and the Families First/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Emergency Cash Assistance program.
