Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers Seize 68 Pounds of Cocaine
NASHVILLE – On Wednesday February 13, Trooper Baron Cooper, assigned to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s (THP) West Bureau Interdiction Plus (IP) Unit, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 in Henderson County, near mile marker 103. Trooper Cooper spoke with the driver, Camilo Gonzalez and observed several signs of deception and stress.
As the investigation continued, Gonzalez gave consent for the vehicle to be searched. During the search, Troopers noticed three of the vehicle’s door panels had been tampered with. Upon further inspection, troopers located within the doors of the vehicle 31 kilos of cocaine, weighing 68 pounds.
Gonzalez, 53 years-old of Miami, Florida was arrested for possession of cocaine for resale or delivery and was transported to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) for booking. Booking photos can be obtained from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
