TN Reconnect Community Grant Competition
THEC has designed a statewide approach to providing community‐based services for adults with some college, no degree for the purpose of increasing the credential attainment of this population. It is our intent to call for proposals from communities, broadly defined. For the purposes of this grant, a “community” will be defined as a city, county, geographic region or cluster of the previous entities, existing in the State of Tennessee. An “adult” will be defined as those who are in the age range of 25‐64 inclusive, who started a postsecondary credential but did not finish.
The programs funded through Veteran Reconnect will increase campus services for student veterans and provide veteran-specific resources, such as the expansion of campus veteran centers or professional development for faculty and staff on the specific needs of students with military experience.
Research to Reconnect Initiative
THEC is soliciting proposals from interdisciplinary faculty researchers, student affairs and student services practitioners, and non-profit educational organizations in Tennessee to conduct original research and/or document evidence-based best practices that will focus on understanding access, retention strategies, persistence, completion, pedagogy and curriculum, co-curricular support, academic engagement, campus engagement and additional aspects of understanding the adult learner experience.
