  • Tennessee Awarded Grant to Expand Apprenticeships Statewide

    NASHVILLE - The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) awarded Tennessee a grant to create and expand apprenticeship programs across the state. The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) will receive $1.4 million in funding over the next three years through the USDOL Apprenticeship State Expansion grant.

  • June 2019 County Unemployment Rates for the State of Tennessee

    NASHVILLE - Data released Thursday by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) indicates unemployment increased in Tennessee’s 95 counties during June 2019. Sixty-one counties have unemployment rates below 5 percent, while 34 counties now have unemployment rates at, or above, 5 percent.

    NASHVILLE – Eighty of Tennessee’s 95 counties recorded an unemployment rate in March 2019 that is lower compared to the same time last year according to newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). Also, in the year-to-year comparison, the rates in nine counties held steady, while six counties saw increases.
